As an ideal location for year-round destination weddings filled with natural beauty, Sedona boasts some of the most spectacular views and settings in the American Southwest. Within this remote region lies Enchantment Resort, where couples, wedding guests, and luxury travelers alike can take in the unique ambiance, character, and native culture of the area. Enchantment Resort’s Wedding Sales Manager, Lauren Paull, shares more about what couples can expect when planning a destination wedding in Sedona at this remarkable venue.
GO: How would you describe the architectural style of your property?
A: Our 70-acre resort, nestled in Boynton Canyon, is designed to take advantage of the breathtaking scenery with private, one-story adobe casita accommodations that showcase panoramic views of rock formations and pine forests.
GO: What was the inspiration behind the design of your interiors and guest rooms?
A: Boynton Canyon is a very spiritual place, and the resort's design brings the Spirit of the Canyon directly to the guests' front door. We wanted to pay tribute to the history of the canyon and those who have lived here thousands of years by using a color palette that blends into the natural colors of the environment. The single-story buildings also keep a light footprint and respect the integrity of the land and wildlife.
GO: When is your busiest time of year, and how far in advance should couples book if they hope to secure a date during those months?
A: Because Sedona has ideal weather almost year-around, March through late- November tend to be our high-season months. We encourage booking one to two years out but welcome the opportunity to create celebrations with any length of lead time.
GO: Is there a type of wedding that fits best with your venue? (i.e. Traditional, glamorous, bohemian, rustic, etc.)
A: With the vast beauty and deep spiritual culture of Boynton Canyon, couples looking for a natural, minimalist, Bohemian feel tend to gravitate toward the energy of Enchantment Resort. Of course, outdoor ceremonies are in high demand with the scenery, and the reception can move into a ballroom area (also in an adobe-style building) after the sun sets over the canyon.
GO: In what type(s) of cuisine does your culinary team specialize?
A: Our talented culinary team, led by Executive Chef Jose Martinez, creates a unique epicurean experience of modern American dishes inspired by indigenous ingredients of the Southwest.
GO: What type of activities are available for guests to partake in during a wedding weekend?
A: Enchantment Resort is a true destination resort with activities that appeal to all ages and activity levels. We have an award-winning spa with abundant treatments and wellness services, including everything from healing massages to yoga and guided meditations. Our new adventure center, Trail House, is a launching pad for mountain biking, guided hikes and more – even star-gazing hikes. Guests also have access to tennis courts, pickleball courts, outdoor swimming pool and a robust selection of activities, including culinary demonstrations, photography, pottery, wine and watercolor workshops, golf and more.
GO: What facilities, restaurants, or catering options do you have available for wedding week events like welcome dinners or post-wedding farewell brunches?
A: The resort showcases the flavors of its region in two dining concepts – Che Ah Chi and Tii Gavo – which are ideal for small, intimate gatherings. For larger events, our banquet culinary team and staff offer elevated dishes perfect for any occasion.
GO: What are some nearby attractions that guests can visit?
A: Sedona is an adventure haven, as hiking, jeep tours, fly fishing and hot air balloon rides abound. Also known for attracting world-renowned artists, Sedona has many art galleries and shops featuring local artisans and vendors. The ability to take day trips to the Grand Canyon, Verde River, historic Jerome, and Flagstaff make Sedona a great central location.
