GO: How far in advance does a couple need to reserve a wedding date?
A: As long as we have availability, we don’t require specific amounts of days in advance. Our certified in-house wedding planners always recommend doing it a year in advance to ensure that you will have access to your desired dates, and also secure the availability of the vendors of your preference.
GO: Are onsite wedding planners available for the wedding process?
A: As part of the Velas Weddings standards, we provide the Wedding Planner service in all of our properties. Our planners are experienced professionals who are certified in South Asian Weddings, LGBT Weddings, Jewish Weddings, and Event Planning.
GO: Are accommodations and buyouts available? What is the capacity limit?
A: We do have the option to do a buyout, which is a very strong trend in these times of social distancing. The capacity depends on the property:
Grand Velas Riviera Maya: 539 suites
Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit: 264 Suites
Grand Velas Los Cabos: 307 Suites (Maximum capacity of 3 adults or 2 adults & 2 kids per suite)
Mar del Cabo (Adults only): 48 Suites
Casa Velas (Adults only): 80 Suites
Please notice that when doing a buyout, special concessions apply. For example, in our boutique properties (normally adults only), we can allow children, as the entire property will be for the couple and their friends and family.
GO: What spaces are available for ceremonies and receptions?
A: In all of our properties, we have terraces, gardens, beach areas, and ballrooms to celebrate wedding events. Due to the “one wedding per day” rule that we offer, couples can enjoy their events in multiple venues and enjoy different ambiances and backdrops on their wedding day.
