The hotel is perfectly situated and there is something for everybody. The pool and pool deck are very relaxing to soak up the sun. It is a leisurely walk to town, or the Casino on the calcada, the traditional Portuguese black and white tiled sidewalks. We enjoyed biking from one end of the promenade to the other while the waves crashed below us.
There are various shops and eateries along the way. You can even rent surf boards. Once you have worked up an appetite have lunch at hotel’s restaurant the Bago du Vin on the terrace. We enjoyed the freshest seafood dishes of mussels, sea bass, and bacalhau with local crisp white wine.
They have a wine list that offers over 100 international varietals. Once we saw that, we scheduled a personalized tasting experience. The Sommelier paired local wines, cheeses, and charcuterie. He provided insights and tasting notes for the selections presented and described the different regions of Portugal.
The Chef and Sommelier planned a special private dinner for us on our terrace. The first course was scallops usuzukuri confit and pomegranate. Next was sea bass, bouillabaisse with clams, followed by beef tenderloin with sauteed pleurotus and sweet potato cream. Each course was expertly matched with the distinctive wines from the Santar dão region. Dessert was white chocolate with strawberries and pudim and abade priscos. Each dish was delicious, and the nuanced pairings demonstrates the coordination of the teams.
The couples massage at the Spa Intercontinental by L'Occitane was transformative.
Everything about this experience was perfect. The massage therapists were professional and friendly. The Spa featured a Turkish bath, and the space was warm and romantic. We immediately felt the wonderful effects of the lavender scented oils as it soothed our muscles and quieted our minds. They also offer a menu of facials and other nuptial treatments for the wedding couple and parties.
Couples looking for a wedding destination should look no further than the Intercontinental Hotel in Cascais and Estoril for its numerous amenities, excellent service, and proximity to Lisbon. We had a wonderful experience, and we thank the staff for their excellent service.
