At W South Beach, the vibrant energy of Miami meets the world-class elegance of a luxury hotel. Factor in pristine ocean views, 5-star amenities, and impeccable service, and it’s the perfect Miami destination for a wedding on the “American Riviera.” For couples getting married at W South Beach, Susan Wesselhoft – Director of Catering Sales – shares more about the property and wedding planning experience.

GO: How would you describe the architectural style of W South Beach?

A: Having undergone a room renovation in 2020, W South Beach is inspired by Miami Beach's evolution as the "American Riviera." Our oceanfront hotel is infused with thoughtful design, relaxed luxury and a sense of calm. Each guest room provides a private sanctuary with ocean views and oversized balconies.

Situated on shores of white sand and crystal blue waters, we're steps away from Miami's endlessly entertaining melting pot. Explore renowned art galleries, museums, parks, nightlife and an impressive culinary scene – all at our doorstep. Stroll our pristine beach, take in the sunset views, cool off at WET Deck or take your shot at our rooftop basketball and tennis courts. Dinner at our resort is an immersive experience; visit the acclaimed Mr. Chow or savor Tuscan flavors at RWSB. Our Living Room Bar, Irma's, and WET Bar and Grille offer an opportunity to connect with Miami’s vibrant local dining culture.

GO: What was the inspiration behind the design of your interiors and renovated guest rooms?

A: The reimagined guest rooms, by Urban Robot Associates, were designed as a retreat, enhancing each South Beach moment from sunrise to sundown, all while overlooking the endless Atlantic Ocean views. The design process marries beach house-style millwork, natural oaks, airy and plush neutral textures, and a beige color palette with accents of soft corals and shaded teals; while the new room flow creates an idyllic transitional oasis where guests go from a sleep haven to a contemporary living room set for entertaining.

Room features include circadian lighting with three preset mood modes (Bright/Entertain/Relax), transient 24-hour music playlists, sand gradient blackouts and an underbed light belt to create a floating effect. Seaside-inspired art photography adorns the wooden paneled walls by French Photographer Jean-Phillipe Piter and a collection of artists from FarmBoy Fine Arts; while local Miami Artist Juan Manuel Rozas hand painted art on powder room walls. The suite redesign also includes a new room category: The Queen Studio and Fantastic suites, featuring two oversized plush Queen beds.

GO: When is your busiest time of year, and how far in advance should couples book if they’re planning on getting married at W South Beach during those months?

A: High season for Miami weddings is November thru April. While the booking window varies for each couple, the typical average is 9-12 months out.

GO: Is there a type of wedding that fits best with the W South Beach vibe? (i.e. Traditional, glamorous, boho, etc.)

A: W South Beach is perfect for sophisticated, modern couples looking for an elegant, upscale, yet non-traditional wedding. The Great Room with tech features offering immersive video mapping appeal to couples looking for a one of a kind experience to wow their guests and images can be personalized to highlight the couples style.

GO: In what type(s) of cuisine does the W South Beach culinary team specialize?

A: The W South Beach offers a menu with elevated international cuisine featuring tropical flavors of Florida with Latin influences, as well as fresh local seafood. Our Chef will work with each couple to customize any special requests.
