From the bright lights of Toronto to the northern lights of James Bay, Ontario offers some of Canada’s most spectacularly diverse wedding venues to couples with a sense of adventure as well as a taste for luxury.
Toronto has the high-end hotels you’d expect to find in a world-class city, including the Fairmont Royal York and the Four Seasons Toronto. The Concert Hall at the Fairmont is the essence of an elegant wedding venue with its Italianate design and oil-painted ceiling, while the Four Seasons is located in the fashionable Yorkville district. The city also offers a variety of interesting reception sites, like the gallery room at the Steam Whistle Brewery and Graydon Hall Manor, a sprawling estate overlooking the Don Valley.
If you want to go green, you can be surrounded by nature in the Glass House at the Kortright Centre, an environmental study center 10 minutes outside Toronto. Thinking of a church wedding? If bride or groom are Catholic, Ottawa’s Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica dates to 1846 and is a lovely setting for solemn nuptials.
The JW Marriott Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa may be Ontario’s most celebrated resort: a lakeside ceremony is a must here. Other great Ontario destination wedding options include Langdon Hall, Ontario’s only Relais & Chateaux resort, and the Millcroft Inn, housed in a converted knitting mill in Ontario’s horse country.
