Allyson Felix and Kenneth Ferguson first met as teenagers, both on the world junior track team representing the United States. Even though they quickly became friends, they had no idea life would lead to them walking down the aisle almost 20 years later.
When the couple decided to have a vow renewal, they had to postpone the date due to COVID, which gave them a long time to go over all the details. It was a smooth vow renewal planning process, involving a talented team of vendors who helped navigate everything.
“It was an unforgettable experience and a day we will cherish forever.”
“Our vow renewal was traditional,” Allyson describes. “From the venue to our attire, it was timeless and classic. My father performed the ceremony which was emotional.
The reception was a blast, showcasing the groom’s love for music with a special choreographed performance by all the groomsmen dancing to some of our favorites. Everyone enjoyed the incredible food and dancing the night away.”
For the bride and groom, the entire celebration was a dream. As anyone could imagine, it was incredibly special to have both families together to celebrate love – especially after the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic.
“It was an unforgettable experience and a day we will cherish forever,” Allyson shares. “We had always heard the day can feel like it is for everyone else, but we wanted to be very intentional about making sure we enjoyed it. It was a success because we had so much fun – we cried, danced, ate, and had absolutely no regrets.”
After their vow renewal, the couple escaped to Bora Bora for the most getaway in paradise. It had been an extremely busy year, so it was the perfect way to unwind and enjoy each other.
Their Bora Bora trip involved eating the best food, swimming, snorkeling, and their favorite which was hanging out on their deck, reading and enjoying music above the crystal-clear water.
