Nicole Nourafshan and David Hanasab have always known each other—first meeting as family friends—although their early exchanges were limited to “Hi” and “Bye.” Eventually, after they started taking the same class together and crossing paths at parties, timing played a part in the two becoming more than mere acquaintances. “We were constantly seeing each other and there was a magnetic click between us,” Nicole recalls.
When it came time to propose, David decided to disguise the occasion as a surprise birthday party for his mother. “Little did Nicole know, my mom was in on it,” he says.
“SHE TEACHES ME EVERY DAY TO BE THE BEST VERSION OF MYSELF…”
“When she arrived and entered the house, I was standing in the yard in front of an enormous flower wall. After she made it over, I got down on one knee and popped the question.” The engagement was sealed with a beautiful engagement ring by Kings Vault, who also designed the couple’s wedding jewelry and “his and hers” watches.
More than anything, David and Nicole wanted their wedding to be personal and full of love. When the big day arrived, the bride enjoyed some time getting ready with her bridesmaids, wearing robes and taking photos together. “It was such a special feeling being surrounded by the most special women in my life,” she shares.
A romantic and elegant color palette of white, pink, beige and rose gold set the tone for a wonderfully intimate ceremony at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel. “Our ceremony was very important to us; we wanted it to be a special and holy moment,” Nicole explains. “I wrote my vows myself. I always wondered how people were able to write them—there were so many emotions involved.
The week of our wedding, I went into the yard at my parents’ house with a pen and paper, and I wrote down exactly what I was feeling. It only took me ten minutes to write my vows because it came directly from the heart. I wrote about how thankful I am to God for answering my prayers and bringing David into my life. I wrote about how David embodies my favorite qualities from each of my family members.”
“I wrote about how much I love and admire Nicole for her incredible work as a life coach, and her efforts in always aiming to make other people happy and feel fulfilled,” David adds. “She teaches me every day to be the best version of myself, and I am so lucky to be with such a giving, loving and unique partner.”
The ceremony was followed by a warm, inviting and lavish reception for the newlyweds and their 400 guests. Dinner included a truffle salad, short ribs and sea bass, and the bride and groom chose Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” for their first dance. Afterwards, a band and DJ provided music for a nonstop night of dancing and celebrating. “They made our wedding one for the books,” says Nicole. “DJ Nathan really understands the crowd and knew how to make our party full of happiness, love and fun!”
To cap off an unforgettable wedding experience, Nicole and David traveled below the equator for a warm weather honeymoon. Wanting their first trip as husband and wife to include the city, adventure and romance, the two created the perfect honeymoon itinerary: Cape Town, an African safari and the gorgeous Seychelles.
