Sean and Michelle met four and a half years ago through mutual friends. By their third date she knew there was something very special between them. Even though it took her by surprise, she knew she had met her soul mate.
When they first met, Sean lived in Dublin and Michelle lived in London. Within six months of their relationship, she had moved home to be with him. At the beginning, what attracted her to Sean was his big heart which was clearly visible through his love and devotion for his children, his honesty and his passion for life. She found his enthusiasm and positive outlook infectious.
“I FELT SUCH AN OVERWHELMING SENSE OF PEACE, HAPPINESS AND EXCITEMENT AND I WILL HOLD ONTO THAT MEMORY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE,”
Eighteen months after their first meeting, she was diagnosed with cancer, but Sean stood firmly by her side giving Michelle the strength to deal with what was ahead. He showed her unwavering support, love and compassion throughout her recovery and helped her to laugh and feel joy during some of the toughest times.
“I think the experience brought us even closer and showed us that together we could tackle anything that life might throw at us,” Michelle said. To her absolute delight, Sean got down on one knee and proposed to her on Christmas Eve, not long after she was given the all-clear.
Walking down the aisle with her father was one of the most wonderful moments of her life. “I felt such an overwhelming sense of peace, happiness and excitement and I will hold onto that memory for the rest of my life,” Michelle said.
During their early days together, Sean told Michelle that he could picture them far into the future walking hand in hand along a beach somewhere and she knew he was right because she was picturing the same thing.
