Daniel and Julie met in January 2011, on a dating website, as she took the lead from a couple that moved next door who had done the same and were so happy.
The first profile she viewed possessed no picture, but only the name Daniel who was 27 and lived in Miami. Although she had a rule of not contacting anyone without a picture, she guessed rules were meant to be broken.
So, she decided to message him and almost instantly received a reply saying that he was planning on messaging her. She guessed it was fate because it led to a three and a half hour telephone conversation followed by flowers and a first date at a popular restaurant. When he arrived she could see him smiling at her so her heart began to race. “He was so handsome,” she said.
"WHEN HE ARRIVED SHE COULD SEE HIM SMILING AT HER SO HER HEART BEGAN TO RACE."
Two years later Daniel took her to dinner at a steakhouse and after dinner they walked toward his apartment. When he opened the door the floor was lined with rose petals and candles which created a walkway. In addition to chocolate covered strawberries and champagne, he arranged heart shaped frames of pictures throughout their relationship and placed them on the table. When she turned around to look at him, he was down on one knee. He asked her to marry him and she accepted.
They selected the Ritz Carlton on Key Biscayne as the venue. To make their wedding unique and personal, Julie created giant white paper flowers into a band and bar backdrop, inspired by 2009 Chanel fashion. When Julie showed Ana Paz of Ana Paz Cakes her paper flowers, she came up with the idea to copy Julie’s paper flowers and make them out of sugar to embellish their cake.
They selected the Powerhouse band as they heard them perform two years prior at the South Beach Food & Wine Festival’s Burger Bash. Lastly, they selected their photographer, Karin Von Voigtlander, after they fell in love with some incredible pictures she took!
Their wedding day was perfect. As she walked down the staircase she felt like her heart was beating out of her chest while Daniel waited with his eyes closed. At last, he opened his eyes to see her in her Marchesa dress. They took pictures around the beautiful property and then went back inside for the ketubah signing and bedecken. Their ketubah was painted by Julie’s aunt in water color which added yet another personal touch. They had an orthodox Jewish ceremony which was very important to both of them.
Their first dance, at the reception, was to “All of Me” by John Legend. “As I danced with Daniel for the first time as husband and wife, it felt like magic,” Julie said. A few days after their magical wedding they left for a fabulous honeymoon to Hong Kong, China and Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Bangkok, Thailand.
