An Elegant and Intimate Wedding Dinner Party in Scottsdale, Arizona
Like many modern love stories, Amy Zaterman and Sean Seltzer met on the dating app, Bumble. Amy was living in Denver at the time and was in Scottsdale visiting family when the two of them connected. Sean suggested dinner and drinks that night at Jade Bar at Sanctuary, which – unbeknownst to him – was one of Amy’s favorite spots in the city. There was immediate chemistry and they had an instant, deep connection as they shared many of the same values and interests.
After that, they became inseparable. Exactly seven months after their first date, the couple was on a sunset stroll along the sea in Palm Beach, Florida when Sean got down on one knee and asked Amy to complete his life and become his wife. Overwhelmed with love, Amy eagerly accepted.
“AMY’S PERSONAL VISION WAS TO THROW AN ELEGANT AND UNFORGETTABLE DINNER PARTY.”
Amy had never wanted a traditional wedding, and her personal vision was to throw an elegant and unforgettable dinner party. They wanted to keep the event extremely intimate, so they narrowed it down to the truly most beloved people in their lives. The vibe would be modern deco, and she would only dedicate six weeks max to the planning process. Amy thought it would be impossible to find somebody as detail obsessed as she was to help her pull off her “dream wedding” with this minimal timeline; but by some miracle, she was introduced to Mandy Dorr of Mandy Marie Creative who executed the event flawlessly.
A string quartet played during the ceremony, and the bride and groom were married by a Rabbi under a chuppah with Camelback Mountain as the backdrop. Following the ceremony, guests were ushered into the yard to enjoy breathtaking views overlooking all of Phoenix. They were serenaded by a pianist and cellist while nibbling on a variety of hors d’oeuvres and sipping on cocktails.
When it was time for dinner, everyone made their way to a long dining table where each guest’s seat was marked by an acrylic round etched in gold, with the couple’s logo and the guest’s name perfectly sized to rest on each Casa de Perrin table setting. As fine dining aficionados, Amy and Sean requested a seven-course French tasting menu experience by M Culinary, including a dover sole quenelle over lobster, a foie gras seared beef tenderloin, and a crème brulée fired tableside. The couple also enjoys red wine and frequent Napa, so they served Caymus wines as a nod to their favorite vineyard.
Illuminating the center of the long table were floating white candles surrounded by white flowers, compliments of Sarah’s Garden Style. With the help of Bright Event Rentals, the dining experience was held underneath a tunnel of taut twinkle lights which would become more visible with the setting sun. Inspired by Amy’s Johanna Ortiz dress, a malachite and gold triangle dance floor was set just beyond the table which boasted five round chandeliers of varying sizes and heights. Pyrotechnics were also surrounding the dance floor and stage with sparklers to be set off at opportune times, courtesy of Divinity Lighting. Throughout the sunset and into the night guests were graced by the soulful performance of the Angela Ferrari Band.
However, with the help of Onstage Entertainment, the real surprise came from fire dancer, Kelsie Koziol, who performed in between several of the later courses. At the end of the evening, just off in the distance, a hot air balloon illuminated the desert night sky which served as a lovely addition to the unbelievable setting. The entire evening was captured by photographers, Andrew & Ada.
Thanks to the Mandy Marie Creative team and all of their creative partners, the wedding was everything Amy dreamed of and so much more. It was tasteful, refined, elegant and so uniquely appropriate for her and Sean as a couple.
