Just like many young and busy professionals do nowadays, Jill Krakowski and Adam Hess met online. They first connected at a cozy spot on Lower Manhattan’s Stone Street and were taken by the ease with which they connected.
They were able to talk about nearly anything under the sun, and Adam was very taken by Jill’s intelligence and her little smirk when he made bad jokes. Jill enjoyed Adam’s “joie de vivre” and what she still praises as his eternal optimism.
"A TRULY THOUGHTFUL MELDING OF THEIR TWO TRADITIONS AND FAITHS."
A couple years later, it became clear to them both that they were a good match, and it was time to take their next step together. Adam did his research into what would be Jill’s dream engagement ring and spent many hours in New York’s diamond district to find just the right stone and setting. Over Fourth of July weekend of 2017, Jill, Adam, and their respective mothers, Eileen and Joan, went to San Juan, Puerto Rico. After a few days of waiting for the right moment and moving the ring from hiding place to hiding place, Adam proposed to Jill on their balcony as the sun was setting.
In January of 2018, the couple celebrated their engagement among their friends and family with a convivial engagement party at the Yale Club of New York, and immediately began the wedding planning process. As both of their mothers reside in Florida, Jill and Adam decided that South Florida would make a fun destination for their wedding. They visited the Boca Raton Resort and Club and were enamored by the history, beauty, and attention to detail that location offered. The Cathedral Room was the ultimate selling point – its grandeur provided the exact setting the couple had envisioned for saying their vows.
The wedding weekend began on Friday evening with a “Barbecue before I do” held in the Cloister Garden of the resort. On Saturday, the wedding ceremony was held in the Cathedral Room, with Rabbi Larry and Father Andrew officiating and a string trio setting the mood. All in attendance agreed the ceremony was particularly lovely, and a truly thoughtful melding of their two traditions and faiths.
Following the wedding ceremony, all adjourned to the stately Palm Court for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. At the conclusion of the cocktail hour, a kilted bagpiper summoned all the guests back in to the Cathedral Room, which had been transformed into an elegant and impressive setting for the reception. A three-course dinner was expertly prepared and served, and guests danced the night away to the sounds of live band, Flavor.
The following morning, a post-wedding brunch was held at the Boca Raton Yacht Club terrace, where guests said their goodbyes while overlooking the impressive boats. Jill and Adam were truly on cloud nine the entire weekend.
The newlyweds took their honeymoon in Hawaii – half the time spent braving the Pacific’s waves and visiting islands aboard a private 62ft catamaran Blaze II, and the second half was spent ashore, at the Mauna Kea Resort on the Big Island and the Princeville Resort in Kauai.
