A Spectacular Country Club Wedding with Green and White Decor

Lydia and Solomon first met during a trip in July of 2023. While they were both tasked with caring for orphans and children who came from broken homes, they also had some free time to get to know each other.

“The first moment I laid eyes on him was at a beach club the minute he landed off the plane,” Lydia recalls. “I remember thinking, ‘Wow, what a good-looking man.’”

A Proposal at the Pierre

The couple had a rather unique journey to the chuppah, as their wedding planning process was already in the works by the time the proposal took place. Lydia isn’t the easiest person to surprise, but Solomon successfully orchestrated the perfect engagement with the help of a very special wedding planner.

“I remember thinking, ‘Wow, what a good-looking man.’”

“He took me on an apartment tour of the UES,” Lydia explains. “Right when we walked into the apartment, I got a call from my wedding planner, aka Aunty Norma. She started by asking me what I was up to and then she continued with, ‘I’m doing a party at the Pierre, I want you to come see it after you are done looking at the apartment. Maybe we can get some ideas for the wedding.’ So we went straight over, and I walked into a [Norma Cohen Productions] proposal. Not only was my aunt doing my wedding – she also planned my proposal and everything in between. It was the most magical day with rose petals, a violinist, my family, and lastly MY FIANCE!”

Zuhair Murad Mariage

When the couple found out they were getting married, which was after about four months of dating, the bride-to-be immediately started the search for her dream wedding dress. Accompanied by her mother and sister, she visited several boutiques and tried on a plethora of designer gowns including Mark Ingram, Galia Lahav, Monique Lhuillier, Naeem Khan, Berta, and Oscar de la Renta.

“After two weeks of trying on,” she shares, “we decided to go to a store in Brooklyn called Esti’s where we bought my Zuhair Murad gown. The reason why I loved my gown was because it was a 2 in 1! I had a puffy big dress for the ceremony and a straight, gorgeous gown for the reception.”

Having one of New York’s top luxury wedding planners as a family member certainly had its advantages. The couple came up with numerous ideas during the wedding planning process, and Norma was constantly saying, “This wedding has to be over the top – it’s my brother’s daughter.” And so, it was.

“We started with the invitation,” Lydia shares. “We knew that we were getting married on a golf course, so we decided to make the invitation have gates in the front; but we felt it was a little too much. So, we went back to the invitation place and decided to do a whole garden themed invitation. It came out truly spectacular. I am still obsessed with it to this day. From then on, we knew we wanted a green wedding to keep in theme. I also started a TikTok called @lydiaashleyb during the wedding process, and everyone was loving it. They were so curious how I was planning my wedding before I even got engaged!”

After solidifying their plans for a luxury country club wedding with green and white décor, the bride-to-be decided that she would leave the rest to her aunt. Although Norma would check in with her niece for feedback about details like chairs, chair covers, and the floor, Lydia had no idea what the wedding would look like once it all came together. The couple’s decision to hand over control to Norma Cohen Productions set them up for the most incredible wedding reveal imaginable.

The Wedding Reveal

The wedding day turned out to be everything Lydia and Solomon dreamed of. From the moment they walked into the venue, neither of them could stop smiling.

“When I walked in, the first thing I saw was the ceremony,” says the bride. “I could not believe my eyes. A giant tree as the chuppah. It was so unique. So different, I never saw anything like it. Next, the dancing room was everything I could dream of. I love music, I love parties, and I wanted my guests to dance the night away.

I asked my aunt for that club feel in the reception room. And when I walked in and saw the green crystals hanging from the ceiling, I was in awe. My favorite part was the DJ booth. It was everything I ever wanted. The SOLYD love sign. Solyd means Solomon and Lydia – together, we will have solyd love! That sign is now hanging on top of our bed.”

The day was overwhelming in the best way possible, but Norma ensured the newlyweds were well cared for. Even the little things that couples and planners tend to overlook, like having food available in their rooms before hitting the dance floor, were addressed.

After their wedding celebration winded down, the couple retired to a beautiful suite at their wedding venue, Eagle Oaks Country Club. The next morning, they indulged in some restorative massages – all, arranged for them by Aunty Norma.

Honeymooning in Europe

Lydia and Solomon kicked off their new life together by honeymooning in Europe.

“We traveled through Greece, Italy, and France,” says Lydia. “We lugged our luggage that kept growing to five different hotels! The most memorable part of the honeymoon was traveling the world with my husband. He took me to places I’ve never been in my life, and I was so lucky to experience that together. We tanned, went to beach clubs, shopped, truffle hunted, went to wineries, cooking classes, massages, workouts, and so much more. This a time that we will never get back but will always cherish for the rest of our lives.”
