A Romantic Outdoor Wedding in Ontario Canada

Not many people can say their first boyfriend or girlfriend was their last. For Taylor and Aaron, however, a story of childhood sweethearts eventually turned into a long-lasting romance.

The couple met when they were about eight years-old. They played North Toronto house league hockey together, and both of their dads – Robert Disher and Robert Dexter – were the coaches. A few years later, the two kids reconnected when they were attending Allenby Public School together for fifth and sixth grade.

It was during their time at Allenby that Taylor and Aaron first realized they shared a special connection; so they decided to start “dating.” Like most relationships that form during that age, the little couple soon found themselves in turmoil when Taylor made the dramatic decision to break up with her boyfriend while on a school trip to Ottawa. While it was terrible news for Aaron, the two soon moved on and continued to be friends for the next 15 years.

Aaron and Taylor continued to go to school together throughout the years and remained good friends. Even while in university, when Taylor was at Western and Aaron was at McMaster, they would occasionally make time to hang out. But when their best friend, Kyle Lew, was married in December 2010 in Antigua, it became apparent that they were meant to be together. Even though they tried to deny it for days, everyone else spotted the love between them.

During that incredible destination wedding week, Taylor fell head over heels in love with Aaron, and it was then that she realized she didn’t want to spend another day away from him. The feeling was mutual on Aaron’s part, as the couple has spent nearly every day together since then.

To say the least, Taylor and Aaron can’t thank their friends enough for having them as a groomsman and groom’s woman in that Antigua wedding.
