“Our love story began at a time in which neither one of us expected the unexpected – to fall in love again,” says Pepper Ferry. As soon as she and Alejandro Alva met, they knew the other was special. It took Alex two years to ask Pepper out on an official date; but once he did, they both knew they’d found their soulmate.
As time progressed and their relationship bloomed, Alex began his search for the perfect engagement ring. The ring hunt ended up taking the couple on a journey to Chicago, Seattle, and finally Alaska where Alex found “the” stone. Although Pepper had her suspicions of what he was up to, she wasn’t certain.
“THAT PROPOSAL WAS WORTH THE TEN-YEAR WAIT.” PEPPER FERRY
Later that year, the two traveled to Paris and Barcelona for a couple weeks, and Pepper was expecting Alex to propose. She searched everywhere for the ring, including Alex’s shoes, but came up empty handed.
On the last day of their trip, the couple went on what Alex calls “his princess tour,” visiting the Loire Valley, Chambord and Chenonceau, and returning in the afternoon for one last night in the City of Lights. Alex surprised Pepper with a Cinderella carriage and a chocolate shoe in her size, and they rode through the city with champagne, flowers, and macarons. When they arrived at the Alexander III Bridge, Alex finally popped the question as the sun was setting.
“That evening was magical, sailing the Seine and dancing the night away,” Pepper describes. “That proposal was worth the ten-year wait.”
With France holding such a special place in their hearts, Pepper and Alex decided to host a destination wedding the following year. After searching for the perfect wedding planner, Pepper found her match in Alejandra Poupel.
“Alejandra and her team were extraordinary, helping us plan to the most minute detail the vision that we had in mind,” Pepper states. That vision included a fairytale wedding where the bride and groom could relax, knowing they and their guests would have an unforgettable experience. Four blissful days were organized, during which everyone enjoyed a cruise along the Cote d’Azur, a dinner reception, and a magical wedding ceremony at Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. The ambiance was romantic and sophisticated, guests were surprised by butterflies during the ceremony, the food was Michelin quality, and the dance floor was full until 4 a.m.
“We cannot begin to express our emotions and feelings that day,” says the bride. “Although the logistics were daunting and the details more than complicated, Alejandra and her team made everything happen. We and our guests felt pampered and cared for. The staff was attentive, professional, and we felt at home yet special.”
