    SYUZI GORGOYAN & NARBEH TOVMASSIAN

September 12, 2016 in Los Angeles, California

Syuzi Gorgoyan and Narbeh Tovmassian first met in 2012, when mutual friends set them up on a blind date at Fig and Olive in West Hollywood. The two instantly hit it off and had so much fun getting to know each other, they didn’t realize they were the last to leave the restaurant that night.

Syuzi was happy and excited to have met Narbeh, but a bit heartbroken when he revealed he would be moving to Las Vegas to complete his Internal Medicine Residency at UNLV

“ALL I COULD THINK ABOUT WAS HOW LUCKY WE WERE TO HAVE EACH OTHER”

“During dinner, I started to sense that he was fiddling with something in his pocket,” Syuzi describes. “When I got back from the restroom, he popped out the ring and asked me to marry him. It was one of the best moments of my life and I immediately started crying.”

“During dinner, I started to sense that he was fiddling with something in his pocket,” Syuzi describes. “When I got back from the restroom, he popped out the ring and asked me to marry him. It was one of the best moments of my life and I immediately started crying.”

The wedding date was set for September 12, 2016, giving Syuzi and Narbeh about a year and a half to plan their nuptials. During the wedding planning process, they quickly secured the most important wedding vendors on their list – the Taglyan Cultural Complex for the wedding venue, along with Duke Photography.

As the wedding date grew closer, they also enlisted the help of Christine from Fancy That! Events, who was especially vital during the last few months leading up to the big day.

On the morning of the wedding, the bride couldn’t wait to see her groom. When they first saw each other, it was in the midst of all the chaos of a traditional Armenian wedding – folk music playing, and loud cheering from family and friends. With 20 people in their wedding party alone, it was quite the celebration.

“All I could see was Narbeh’s smile,” says the bride. “He kissed me and kept telling me how much he loved me, and how beautiful I looked. All I could think about was how lucky we were to have each other.”

When the newlyweds arrived at Taglyan, they were blown away once the reception hall was unveiled. Every detail had come together beautifully as the venue dripped in white roses and orchids, and sparkled with delicate touches of gold. From the staff’s service to the food, the bride and groom couldn’t say enough about their Taglyan experience.

“The venue and team is the absolute definition of quality and opulence,” says Syuzi. “I literally could not stop smiling and could not wait for my guests to walk in and dance the night away.”

With such a gorgeous ambiance of grandeur, Syuzi the couple’s wedding favors as her favorite detail of the night. Feeling lucky to have found each other and to have successfully made their long distance relationship work, she and Narbeh included lottery tickets in an envelope marked “Lucky in Love” for all the guests.

“The rest of the night was an incredible celebration with all the people who have had an impact on our lives,” Syuzi says. “It was the happiest day of our lives, and one we will continue to cherish and celebrate every year moving forward.”
