Eric Goodman met Alexandra Fairweather just before graduating from Columbia University – a chance encounter that would lead to a happily ever after. The two arrived early for final exams and found themselves in an empty classroom. Although he was set to graduate the next day, Eric took the opportunity to ask Alexandra for her phone number.
Four years later, he proposed during a romantic vacation, on the balcony of their suite overlooking the Aegean.
ALEXANDRA AND ERIC’S WEDDING WAS JUST AS FAIRYTALE-LIKE AS THEIR ENGAGEMENT.
Alexandra and Eric’s wedding was just as fairytale-like as their engagement. With friends and family gathered from around the world, the two tied the knot at Badrutt’s Palace in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Tucked away in the snowy Swiss Alps, the destination wedding weekend was filled with pre-wedding festivities including horse-drawn sleigh rides through the mountain, chocolate making classes, sledding, skiing, and dancing at the star-studded King’s Club.
On the night of the wedding, guests were in awe as they entered an enchanting flower tunnel flowing with fresh orchids and roses while being escorted to their ceremony seats. The bride wore a blush wedding gown by Monique Lhuillier, the groom donned a custom Ralph Lauren white tie tuxedo, and both vowed “to create a home together filled with learning, laughter, happiness, and love. Opera singers Jonathan Morales and Jeannivee Fiorese performed Andrea Bocelli’s “Con Te Partiro” alongside a string quartet during the processional, completing the magical ambiance.
The wedding ceremony was followed by a cocktail party and sit-down dinner, during which guests indulged in velvety broccoli cream soup with chanterelles and ricotta gnocchetti, spinach and ricotta-filled cappelletti, and steamed dover sole with cucumber pearls, chardonnay butter sauce, dill, and caviar.
An equally impressive dessert bar was served after, featuring a variety of sorbet and Badrutt’s renowned chocolate cult buffet. Finally, the newlyweds pre-arranged a midnight snack of penne arrabiatta in anticipation of a full night of dancing, just in case anyone needed a carbohydrate refill.
As Alexandra and Eric had hoped, the preceding year of detail-oriented planning culminated in an aura of love and happiness. The couple celebrated their honeymoon the following summer, rendezvousing in the same destination where their wedding journey began – the Aegean.
