Taylor Thompson and Chadd Reynolds met in an Economics class at Berry College in the fall of 2008. As anyone can imagine with university students, the two paid more attention to each other than they did the professor, and decided to pursue a relationship as a couple after getting to know each other outside the classroom. “Chadd said my ‘confidence and beauty initially struck him,’” Taylor describes. “I thought he was the most handsome guy I’d ever seen, and immediately was smitten with his sense of humor."
Over the next seven years, Chadd and Taylor’s relationship grew sweeter and stronger, deeply rooted in friendship and faith. While Chadd attended law school in Indiana, the couple spent a great deal of time exploring Chicago, and eventually fell in love with the city. “For us, the city became an encouraging reminder that together we could overcome any obstacle,” Taylor adds. “Chadd decided to propose to me in the Windy City, and said that it served as a testament to the strength of our relationship.”

Since Taylor and Chadd had a long engagement, the wedding planning process was spaced out enough so it never became overwhelming. The support of their friends and family was also a welcome stress reliever. “Chad and I wanted to stay true to our style, which we like to consider to be classic and romantic,” Taylor explains. “The day was truly magical. That is the only word I can think of that perfectly encompasses every emotion we had.”
A few days prior to the wedding, the weather forecast predicted snow and ice, which required some last-minute problem solving and backup planning to ensure guests would be safe. Fortunately, the big day was met with sunshine and there was a small amount of remaining ice in the trees – a beautiful touch from Mother Nature, which added some extra sparkle to the wedding.
As the newlyweds walked into the reception space, they were thrilled with how spot on the décor was with their original vision. Everywhere they looked, there were intricate details such as flowers gently overflowing from each centerpiece, and soft candlelight that perfectly illuminated the room. Each element of the décor contributed to creating an idyllic feeling of romance and elegance.
At the same time, the reception was incredibly personable and intimate. “It was like everyone had a hand in crafting our love story,” says the bride. “It was an incredible experience being able to celebrate our marriage surrounded by our family and friends. We both were completely blown away by each aspect of our wedding day, and wouldn’t change a thing.”
