Oksana Spichak & Jonathan Näslund
July 1, 2014 in Willemstad, Curacao
At the beginning of March 2006, two professional ballroom dancers, Oksana Spichak of Ukraine and Jonathan Näslund of Sweden, were looking for new partners to continue their dancing career on a high level. So, Oksana went to Stockholm for a tryout with Jonathan.
They were only 19 years old when they met in the airport as Jonathan had gone to pick Oksana up. She had a very good impression of him. They went to his parents to leave her bags and then directly to the dance studio. She was planning to stay one week and then go back to Ukraine to think about this partnership. However, it felt really good from the beginning so she decided to stay for two months.
They danced every day and were so focused on their dancing, developing and competing all over the world, that they would not dare to feel anything for one another. Even though deep inside they liked each other very much. After one month, they became a couple in their private lives.
Six years later, Jonathan proposed to her. It was exactly on the 5th of March, the same date that they met each other for the very first time. When she returned home from work, she got 120 large red roses accompanied by a very nice dinner and champagne. He got down on one knee and proposed. Of course she said, ”Yes!”
They had always dreamt of getting married on the beach with only the two of them. So when they planned their wedding, the hardest part was only choosing the right location. They wanted to get married barefoot on the beach so, Curacao was the best option for them.
They had an intimate wedding which included Oskana and Jonathan, their photographer and six witnesses. They shared a delicious wedding cake and champagne, right on the beach, next to their wedding gazebo. The decor included beautiful flowers, white chiffon and the crystal Caribbean Ocean. It made the perfect frame for their dream wedding.
At the end of the day, they were very thrilled and so happy about being married. They celebrated with a nice bottle of Dom Perignon '95 and a lobster dinner in a romantic setting, on the beach.
