They met at a very young age as they both played tennis in the local junior tennis circuit. Coincidentally, years later, they attended St. Edwards College.
There, they happened to play on the same tennis team. As a result, they began dating shortly after college. “The proposal was incredibly sweet,” said Sophia, as Gustavo took her and her parents to Sophia’s favorite restaurant.

The next day, he flew her out to San Diego to go ring shopping. They were wed on February 16, 2014 in Antigua, Guatemala.
The highlight of the wedding day was that all of their guests got to experience all that the country had to offer as a group. They went on a volcano and sewing tour as well as shopping. “It was very special,” Sophia said.
