Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt is a take-charge guy on the field, and he was equally confident while courting Sabrina Robinson back in their college days at Rutgers. “He’d come right up to me, even when I was talking to some other guy, and tell me he was going to marry me someday,” recalls Sabrina. Kenny’s prediction came true on Feb., 24, 2012.

Sabrina told planner Karen Kaforey of Nashville’s Signature Events, that the celebration needed to focus on family, friends, fun and “fabulous.” Kenny mostly took a seat on the bench, but did help select the venue—the elegant Merion Palazzo Ballroom in Cinnaminson, N.J.—by reminding Sabrina that she wanted a wedding that was “Grace Ormonde worthy.”

On the wedding day, Kenny’s first glimpse of his bride wasn’t at the altar, but as she descended the venue’s sweeping staircase. “When I first saw her, it was the best part of the evening,” says Kenny.

Following the couple’s tender exchange of vows, the festivities opened with a cocktail hour featuring all the trappings of a tailgate party with Hennessey cocktails in lieu of beer. They were a big hit, particularly with Kenny’s teammates, Vince Young and Nate Washington, among others.

Once the Manhattan Swing Band kicked in, the dancing didn’t even stop for dinner. Some guests—including the bride and groom—got so caught up in the party that they neglected to eat, so the Merion staff thoughtfully boxed up their meals to go.

The final showstopper was designed by Kaforey, who placed the wedding cake in front of a curtain that was drawn revealing a sumptuous dessert station. It was “a white winter wonderland of any dessert you can imagine,” recalls an awestruck Sabrina. Kenny and Sabrina’s wedding was a night full of memorable moments, from the groom getting dressed with the help of his brother and son, to the couple’s daughter, Ava, cutting into the couple’s first dance to the delight of the crowd. “It was the memory of a lifetime for us,” says Sabrina.

The couple continued to make memories together during a honeymoon at the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas before returning home to Nashville.
