    CHRISTIN CARVER & BRYAN GEROLD

March 25, 2016 in Dallas, Texas

Bryan Gerold was having a party at his house when he first met Christin Carver. A shy 17-year-old girl at the time, Christin could hardly think of anything to say once Bryan walked over, offered her a chair, and sat down for a chat.

“We managed to talk most of the evening, yet I really don’t remember what I said or anything else that went on at the party,” she describes. “I must have enjoyed it, as I haven’t been with anyone else since.”

“A BEAUTIFUL SUNSET, WHICH SET THE PERFECT BACKDROP FOR AN OUTDOOR CEREMONY.”

Six years later, the couple was sitting in front of the Christmas tree with their two-year-old daughter, Ava. While they were all relaxing and dressed in their pajamas, Bryan proposed to Christin, making for an intimate and family-oriented engagement.

With a vision for an outdoor wedding, Christin began the wedding planning process immediately. Since the wedding would take place in Texas on Good Friday, weather was one of her main concerns. Fortunately, Mother Nature greeted the big day with a beautiful sunset, which set the perfect backdrop for an outdoor ceremony at the Dallas Arboretum Botanical Gardens.

As a bride, Christin handled her wedding day challenges like a pro. The day before she was set to walk down the aisle, her maid of honor had to cancel due to an unforeseen tragedy.

“I understood and, of course, was devastated,” Christin explains. “My bridesmaids filled in perfectly and one of them became my maid of honor instead.”

Another emergency arose when she put on her wedding dress, which had undergone some last minute alterations, and realized it didn’t fit. Without any time left to fix it, the bride zipped up the dress as high as it would go, tucked the top corners into a “V” shape, and pinned it down.

Despite the initial challenges, the newlyweds were able to enjoy a beautiful ceremony and reception, and the celebration continued even after the wedding was over.

“Instead of traveling right away, we went to the Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas to celebrate and stay for our honeymoon,” says Christin. “I am an only child, so naturally, my mom showed up along with some friends, and we all danced the night away. When she teasingly said to Bryan that she decided to stay and get adjoining rooms, he was speechless.”
