Erik and I met in college at Colorado State University. We went to high schools that were only 15 minutes apart and met through mutual friends. We started dating our junior year of college. Erik decided to take his time in college, but I was on the fast track in the fashion merchandising program so I could move to New York to pursue my dreams. After I moved, we continued to date, but distance and timing were not on our side.

We broke up and spent two and a half years apart. Neither of us dated anyone else during that time, and we eventually decided to give it another try.
Coming back together after spending so long apart, we knew we were meant to be together. Erik proposed in Rome, Italy on the Spanish Steps in June 2012, and the rest is history.
