March 1, 2014 in Los Angeles, California

Edith and Kevin’s happily ever after began seven years ago, when they were introduced to each other through Edith’s aunt. Since that first conversation, everything fell into place. “There were no games and no pretenses–just honesty,” says Edith. “Being together felt right, it felt real, and we became each other’s world.”

In August of 2012, Kevin planned a trip to Cancun, Mexico with family and friends. As they were finishing dinner one night, waiters brought in champagne and placed a special dessert in front of Edith that read, “Will you marry me?” She turned around to find Kevin on one knee, presenting her with an engagement ring he had designed himself. The rest of their trip was spent in newly-engaged bliss, and the wedding planning process began soon after.

Two vendors were booked immediately–the Taglyan Complex, which the couple loved for its timeless elegance, and Jay Jay Studio, as they had always been a fan of his photography. They also enlisted the help of wedding planner Kat Minassi, who was able to keep the wedding plans moving along smoothly.

The big day was set for March 1, 2014, which was also one of the rainiest weekends in California history. Amidst the wedding excitement, there were floods, road closures, structural damage, and evacuations happening simultaneously. Naturally, this added to the nerves Edith and Kevin were feeling as the nuptials approached. “We were both feeling anxious until we made eye contact,” describes the bride. “Seeing each other for the first time on our wedding day made everything better, and I was finally able to breathe.”

Their ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Armenian Church, where the couple said “I do” in the most beautiful setting they had ever seen. With flowers surrounding them, the ambiance was romantic and dreamlike; and it made them even more excited to see what else their vendors had created.

As the newlyweds walked into their reception, they were in “absolute shock.” The space was a heavenly masterpiece that surpassed their expectations, and every detail was executed perfectly. Amber candlelight flooded the room, making the gold details sparkle against the white roses and orchids that were designed by Eddie Zaratsian Custom Florals and Lifestyle. With such a strong feeling of bliss and romance, even the 300 guests in attendance were rendered speechless. The evening continued with a live violinist, singer, and a DJ for entertainment.

Edith and Kevin were on cloud nine throughout the night, feeling blessed to have their friends and family there to celebrate the start of their new life together. “If we had to do it all over again, we wouldn’t change a thing–not even the rain,” Edith says. “Now, every single time it rains, we’re reminded of our wedding day.”
