    JACLYN GOLD AND TREVOR BACON

August 29, 2015 in New York, New York

Jaclyn Gold and Trevor Bacon met while attending Fordham University in New York. For Trevor, it was love at first sight. Before being formally introduced, he told his friends “I’m going to marry that girl,” as he had spotted Jaclyn around campus and immediately noticed her beauty, smile, and “how cute she looked in her baseball cap.”

Months later, the two found themselves sharing an empty train car headed towards Penn Station – Jaclyn skipping class on her way to an interview, and Trevor on his way to visit friends for the weekend. Knowing this was his big chance, Trevor made a move and ended up walking Jaclyn to her interview (the opposite direction of where he was supposed to go). Their conversation came so naturally, it was as if they had known each other their whole lives.

    “WE WERE OVERCOME WITH EMOTION”

After six years of dating, Trevor decided there would be no better place to propose than the most romantic city in the world. During their first evening together in Paris, he surprised Jaclyn with a private boat ride down the Seine and asked her to marry him in front of the Eiffel Tower.

With friends and family flying in from all over, the couple wanted to make sure to provide their guests with an unforgettable wedding weekend in New York City. Inspired by an “old-world New York meets modern day” theme, the Pierre Hotel – with its old-world NYC charm, elegance, sophistication, and intimate setting – was selected as the wedding venue. Thanks to a talented and professional group of vendors, the wedding planning process was seamless and organized, allowing Jaclyn and Trevor to fully enjoy their special day.

The wedding ceremony was held at the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer. The grandeur of the church, paired with having all the bride and groom’s friends and family together for the first time, was the perfect way to kick off a day filled with love and gratitude. This was followed by the revealing of a stunning reception space in the Pierre’s ballroom. An oversized chandelier hung in the center of the room, covered in endless amounts of white roses and orchids that reflected off the gold mirrored dance floor. Smaller, gold mirrored chandeliers also hung throughout the room, perfectly accenting the crystal candelabras along the table tops.

From the moment guests stepped into the reception, live music filled the room and the party started. The tempo only slowed for the newlyweds’ first dance, which was a particularly special moment for the bride.

“Somehow, Trevor picked me up after spinning me around, and all I could remember is looking into his eyes while the room and our guests were spinning around me in the background,” she says. “It was magical.”

The newlyweds also surprised the bride’s parents with a live rendition of their wedding song, honoring their 35th anniversary. After spending a year planning their own wedding, Jaclyn and Trevor loved to be able to dedicate a moment of the night to them.

“We were overcome with emotion; and because the day was such a whirlwind, it hit us even more come the honeymoon,” Jaclyn says. “The most special takeaway from the weekend was that we were able to celebrate our love with every family member and friend in our lives. Having everyone all together is an incredible feeling.”
