    IDALIA OSSMAN AND RAMI YACOUB

    APRIL 26, 2014 IN COTE D’AZUR, FRANCE

When Rami Yacoub saw Idalia Ossman at a mutual friends event, it wasn’t the first time he had laid eyes on her.

“I had seen her before at a restaurant, having dinner two tables away from me, but got no attention whatsoever,” says music producer and songwriter Rami. “She was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen.”

“I HAD FALLEN ASLEEP SO I LITERALLY THOUGHT I WAS DREAMING WHEN I SAW HIM ON ONE KNEE…”

Idalia, a law student, had only decided at the last minute to attend the friend’s event but it was there that the couple sparked a friendship. “After a while it became harder to deny that we were supposed to be more than that,” she says. “Looking back, we probably always knew it was love.”

While vacationing in Spain in the summer of 2013, Rami proposed on the beach. “I had fallen asleep so I literally thought I was dreaming when I saw him on one knee. The whole world around us disappeared,” recalls Idalia. “It was perfect. Like everything else he does for me.”

With a venue already selected—the two had previously visited the South of France and agreed that Château de la Chèvre d’Or was where they would one day marry—wedding planning went smoothly. Not ones to seek attention, the couple opted for an intimate affair with less than 20 guests. “We wanted it small and romantic,” Idalia says.

Guests arrived to the château on Friday and the following day, the bride-to-be spent a few hours with the ladies for “giggles, hair and makeup” prior to the ceremony in Le Café du Jardin. “The wedding day was like a rush through my whole body,” says Rami. “So many emotions; happy and terrified at the same time. But when I saw her wearing the wedding dress, I let all those emotions out and I felt complete. I was to become hers and she mine, one heart.”

Idalia’s father escorted her halfway down the aisle where Rami met her to walk together as a couple while Pachelbel’s Canon in D played. A harpist—the one must Idalia knew she wanted—played solos throughout the evening. Following cocktails, guests moved to the ‘La Chèvre d’Or’ gourmet restaurant for dinner and the reception, complete with chocolate and vanilla croquembouche. “It went by really fast,” recalls Idalia, “and suddenly I was his wife and the happiest woman alive.”

The newlyweds enjoyed a two-week honeymoon, spending a few nights in Monaco before heading to the Maldives where they scuba dived, went deep-sea fishing, rented a deserted island for a day and “spent at least four days not leaving the room at all,” says Idalia. “Every moment was special,” adds Rami.

As the couple enjoys marriage, Idalia finds the best thing about being husband and wife is “knowing that we chose each other for better and for worse. And that I’m building a life with my soulmate.”
