    MANDY LIANG & MAX GUO

    September 19, 2016 in Challain-la-Potherie, France

The first time Max Guo laid eyes on Mandy Liang was at a university lecture. When Mandy walked into the room, Max was instantly transfixed. The rest is history.

Together, the two explored the world – overlanding through Africa, cruising down the Nile, hot air ballooning over Cappadocia, biking among the ruins of Angkor Wat, and trekking the path of the Silk Road. They set out to discover the continents, but also discovered each other in the process.

“ENVISIONING A FAIRYTALE WEDDING WITH TOUCHES OF MAGIC WOVEN THROUGHOUT THE EVENING.”

When it came time to propose, Max chose Jade Mountain, St. Lucia as the location. The stars were shining, the air was filled with the perfume of tropical flowers, and the soothing sound of the waves echoed as he popped the question. As Mandy happily accepted, Max slipped a heart-shaped diamond ring on her finger.

Envisioning a fairytale wedding, it was Max’s idea to host their wedding in a beautiful French chateau with touches of magic woven throughout the evening. The wedding planning process was much like writing their own fairytale story, and Mandy pieced together all the details she dreamed of as a little girl.

There were “glass slippers” from Jimmy Choo, a custom designed wedding gown from Ines Di Santo, a carriage drawn by white stallions, and wedding bells ringing at the chapel. Music was provided by celebrity performers, a fireworks spectacular was displayed, a Michelin star dinner with French wine was served, and the couple had their very own “fairy godmother” as a wedding planner.

Every guest at the wedding was transported to a fairytale realm. An explosion of colors and awe-inspiring wedding décor filled the chapel, and the scent of lavender fields was present throughout the chateau grounds. Most importantly, the entire day was filled with an overwhelming sense of love – love between the couple, lifelong friends, and well-wishing family.

At the end of the night, the newlyweds took to the dancefloor to perform their first dance as a married couple to the theme song from Beauty and the Beast. As the dance concluded, the sky lit up with magnificent fireworks in front of the castle, marking the beginning of Max and Mandy’s “happily ever after.”
