Pamela Pangas & Kevin Cope
December 6, 2013 in Boca Raton, Florida
Kevin Cope and Pamela Pangas met five years ago at a happy hour coordinated by a close colleague of hers. They had an instant connection that evening, enjoyed dinner and danced the night away.
Kevin was a CFO specializing in accounting and she was in business lending and finance. Therefore, they had a great deal in common in terms of their careers. He asked for her number at the end of the night and after giving it to him, she hoped to see him that weekend because she did not ask for his.
Unfortunately, Pamela did not hear from Kevin that weekend or the following week. Definitely disappointed and confused as she thought they had a mutual connection, she let things be and moved on with her life, as usual. The following month, she received a text message from her colleague to call her ASAP because she had heard from Kevin.
When Pamela spoke with her colleague, she learned that Kevin had been hospitalized for a month with acute appendicitis, multiple complications and almost died. He wanted to know if Pamela’s colleague thought it would still be okay to call her as he was concerned he lost his opportunity. Of course Pamela agreed! He called her that evening and they spoke for over six hours on the phone and went on their first official date the next evening.
They spent the next six years together, supporting and loving one another through good and tough times. They got engaged in a quaint little restaurant called 11 Maple Street in Jensen Beach. His proposal was written on a special dessert menu asking Pamela to marry him. He got down on one knee and she said yes. Everyone in the restaurant cheered and congratulated them.
On December 6, 2013, they decided to make it official at The Addison in Boca Raton with about 90 people inclusive of their families and friends. The venue was the perfect mix of the classic elegance and comfort they wanted.
Their family stayed in town all weekend and they enjoyed the beautiful beaches in sunny Florida with all their loved ones. They honeymooned in the Dominican Republic for two weeks.
