On the night that Christin Helms and Robert Carey met in Washington, D.C, they didn’t leave each other’s side. Initially drawn to each other for their shared quirky sense of humor, their friendship and love grew stronger as they realized they had something special.
On Memorial Day weekend of 2012, after a hectic month of brief filings, Rob treated Christin to a massage and manicure to unwind. Upon her return home from the Four Seasons, Rob proposed to Christin in the spot where they shared their first kiss. It was exactly how Christin had dreamed—private, intimate, and personal. Only one thing was missing, but not for long.

Later that evening, Rob surprised Christin with a private wine tasting and chef’s dinner at their favorite neighborhood spot, Cork Market. At the top of the stairs, both families—flown in as a surprise to Christin—awaited the couple. So began a long weekend of celebrating together!
