    COOKIE CHERA & RICHARD SERURE

June 4, 2017 in New York, New York

Cookie Chera and Richard Serure have known each other their whole lives. As time passed, the two began hanging around the same group of people, but it took four years before they started dating. It was Richard’s persistence that finally ended up in Cookie agreeing to go on a first date; and after that first outing, they’ve been inseparable.

“I knew he was the one,” Cookie states. “He was different from any other guy I’ve met. He was the kindest, most affectionate and respectful guy – I thought to myself, ‘Wow, I should have said yes to that date four years ago.’”

"FOR THE BRIDE AND GROOM, EVERYTHING ABOUT THEIR SPECIAL DAY WAS PERFECT."

On February 8th, Richard told Cookie they had a meeting with a planner to check out a space for a party. It was around 10 a.m. when he picked her up and headed to the Meatpacking District. When they reached their destination, Cookie walked into a room where 30 of their friends and family popped out of a closet.

There was a huge painting by Mr. Brainwash, a French artist, on a wall surrounded by balloons and flowers that read, “Cookie, will you marry me?” Later that night, the newly engaged couple and their loved ones celebrated at the Pierre Hotel with drinks and dancing.

“Everyone says planning a wedding is the most stressful time, but not for me,” Cookie recalls. “Norma Cohen of Norma Cohen Productions – who is not only my party planner, but like family to me – made my dreams come true.

Norma doesn’t just plan a wedding; she puts her heart and soul into every single detail to make her bride’s dream day come true. And she did. Anything I wanted, she made happen. Our wedding reception was at the Rainbow Room, and the party was at Rockefeller Center.”

For the bride and groom, everything about their special day was perfect. Cocktail hour was spent on the 65th floor overlooking New York City, the ceremony was staged with art deco-themed décor, and everyone partied the night away at Rockefeller Center.

“The morning after the wedding, we had breakfast with our families, then headed to the airport for our honeymoon,” says Cookie. “We traveled around Italy and Greece – to Portofino, Capri, Mykonos, and Amanzoe. Every day was better than the next. It was truly the perfect honeymoon.”
