    VICTORIA GAN AND JEFFREY GLICK

September 29, 2018. South Salem, New York

In July of 2014, Victoria Gan had stopped by The Wayland – one of her favorite East Village watering holes – when she first crossed paths with Jeffrey Glick. “Posting up with a girlfriend in the corner, it wasn’t long before I locked eyes with a tall, handsome brunette across the crowded bar,” she describes.

“While it remains a he-said-she-said as to who made the first move, we eventually found ourselves standing in the middle of the bar together, and then onto several other bars long into the night. We were both immediately taken in by the other’s energy, confidence, intelligence and most of all, mutual love of the same New York City restaurants. When a ‘Jeff’ showed up in my texts the next morning, the rest was history.”

“AND JUST LIKE THAT, THE MAN OF MY DREAMS WAS DOWN ON ONE KNEE, RING IN HAND AND ‘WILL YOU MARRY ME’ ON HIS LIPS.” VICTORIA GAN

Fast forward to an unseasonably warm February night in 2017. Victoria was celebrating two belated birthdays with her best friends (or so she thought) when they decided to get some margaritas at The Wayland. “I noticed a photographer taking pictures of someone at the entrance,” she recalls. “We commented on how far some go for a decent Instagram picture, and continued to the entrance. Then, in a complete flurry, Jeff bounded down the stairs, grabbed my hands and swung me around to face him. And that photographer?

He turned his attention – and camera – towards us. And just like that, the man of my dreams was down on one knee, ring in hand and ‘will you marry me’ on his lips. I think I blacked out! Smiling from ear to ear and completely overwhelmed, we headed back into the bar for a celebratory drink with my friends before I was whisked away to a surprise dinner at our favorite restaurant with not only his parents, but also my parents, coming all the way from Los Angeles. The surprises continued that night with an apartment strewn with rose petals and pictures of us, and the next day with a brunch with family up from DC and an engagement party with family and loved ones at my aunt’s house in Scarsdale.”

Having their hearts set on a Fall wedding, Victoria and Jeff chose September 2018 as their wedding date and Le Chateau in South Salem as their destination. The big day was greeted by beautiful autumn weather, and the bride and groom shared an intimate “first look” moment before tying the knot with a Jewish ceremony. Cocktail hour followed, which included a raw bar, a trio of sliders, Italian cheese, mini tacos, margarita shooters, and two signature cocktails.

The wedding reception took place in a classic and stylish space that achieved Victoria’s vision of “clean lines and refined romanticism to match the elegance of the mansion.” “We closed out the night with an afterparty to take us into the wee hours,” says the bride. “To say that our wedding day was the best day of our lives would be an understatement.”

For their honeymoon, the newlyweds decided on a 15-night African adventure that included three safari camps in Kenya, staying at Xanadu Villas on the beach in Zanzibar, riding camels in Ol Malo, and an incredible helicopter tour. “It was truly the trip of a lifetime and something Vic and I will be chasing until we make our way back,” Jeff shares. “It was also the perfect ending to not only a truly perfect wedding, wedding day and wedding weekend that Vic put together, but the incredible journey that was the wedding process.”
