Iceland is an incredible country where one can find luxury options without any pretense. After landing at Keflavik Airport, we drove approximately 45 minutes to Reykjavik and checked in to Tower Suites. Immediately, we found ourselves surrounded by modern luxury and knew instantly that Tower Suites would be our top pick for an Iceland honeymoon.
Location and First Impressions
Tower Suites is comprised of eight luxury suites located at the top of a modern business building. After being greeted by our friendly concierge, we were escorted up to the Esja corner suite and were awestruck by the room. With an airy 65-square-meters of space, floor-to-ceiling windows, a walk-in closet and dressing room area, king-sized bed, two large Apple TVs, and a chic seating area, it was the perfect suite for anyone who loves stylish minimalism with a sleek, modern finish. Plus, the signature telescope in the corner was absolutely charming.
Designed with Modern Luxury
Aside from the Apple TVs, various USB ports (no need for a converter to charge your phone), and an iPad next to the bed, the Esja Suite also featured an immaculate bathroom with beautifully appointed fixtures, a rain shower, and an oversized bathtub. Reykjavik is beautiful by day and lit up by night, but for those who prefer to sleep in total darkness, the blackout curtains may be drawn shut via remote.
Amenities and Services
To ensure total comfort for their guests, Tower Suites includes a complimentary mini bar stocked with local beverages and snacks, a Nespresso machine with complimentary coffee, an in-room wine fridge, and an honor bar just down the hall. Breakfast is also included, so couples may start every morning of their Iceland honeymoon with a cozy breakfast in bed. We recommend the waffles, sausages, eggs, green smoothies, and Icelandic yogurt.
Romance with a View
Tower Suites has only been in operation since 2016, when it took over the top floor of Höfðatorg’s tower – the highest point in Reykjavik. Since then, this boutique collection of exclusive suites has been dedicated to providing the discerning clientele with the most luxurious accommodations in the city. The best part about staying in the Esja Suite, aside from the romantic setting and sweeping views, was the service. Everything was world-class, while maintaining an element of invisibility. After meeting with our concierge, the only time we saw a staff member was when breakfast was delivered; and if guests needed any assistance, the Tower Suites team was only a phone call away and available 24 hours. It was the most ideal blend of personalized, yet unobtrusive service that honeymooners and visitors will love if they want to feel free to enjoy Iceland on their own terms.
