If you’re in search of the ultimate showstopper of a wedding gown, then the Spring/Summer 2020 collection by Galia Lahav was made for you. Everything brides have come to love about Galia gowns is included – sexy bodices, eye-popping cuts, romantic fabrics, and dramatic trains – which are the perfect embodiment of the collection’s name, “Make A Scene.”

"And the stars blinked as they watched her carefully, jealous of her shine" - Atticus

Make A Scene speaks to self-love, confidence, and boldness. This season, the Galia Lahav designers were inspired by the musical “Dreamgirls” and what a star experiences behind the stage or big screen, right before stepping into her role. (In this case, it would be those moments of anticipation a bride go through right before walking down the aisle of her wedding ceremony.) In essence, it’s an ode to the process of a woman blossoming into her own.

“The young woman going out into the big world, listening to her own voice, and believing in herself was our muse,” the designers say. “The Make a Scene collection celebrates the process a bride herself goes through for her wedding, her independence, and what the dress means to her when she puts it on.”

Brides are in for a stylish treat with sculptural silhouettes featuring structured shoulders, sleeves, and corsets. These bold cuts are then softened by ethereal shades of ash pink, silver, and classic bridal white. Tailored opaque bases are contrasted by the romance of tulle, organza, and French guipure lace; fitted bodices are paired with voluminous skirts; and sheer side panels and low illusion backs mark the Galia Lahav signature aesthetic. Every facet of these gowns is balanced to perfection, so brides can “make a scene” while still looking refined and elegant. To complete the story behind each dress, three-dimensional elements such as embroidered flowers, detachable bustled tulle trains, and cascading satin overskirts add depth and drama.

“For this couture line, we envisioned the bride taking center stage on her wedding day and making her dream a reality. This collection is for the bride who isn’t afraid to make a scene.”

This season, our gowns speak of self-love, confidence, and boldness. We were inspired by the musical “Dreamgirls” and what a star goes through behind the stage or screen before stepping into her role—the process of her blossoming into her own. Here, sculptural silhouettes featuring structured shoulders, sleeves, and corsets are softened by ethereal shades of ash pink, silver, and white. Throughout the collection, tailored opaque bases are contrasted by romantic tulle, organza, and French guipure lace; fitted bodices are paired with voluminous skirts; and sheer side panels and low illusion backs mark the Galia Lahav signature. And to complete the story of each dress, threedimensional elements like large embroidered flowers, detachable bustled tulle trains, and cascading satin overskirts add depth and drama.
