The 30th installment of Valmont Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week is officially in the books; and even though the fashion shows took place on a digital platform this year, designers still brought their A-game when it came to creating a new crop of wedding gowns for 2021 brides. Whether brides-to-be are in search of something daring or traditional, there was truly a bridal look for everyone on the catwalk. Here are eight standout collections from VBBFW that caught our attention.
Jesus Peiro
There’s sure to be several 2021 brides who are environmentally conscious and in search of ethical fashion brands. Jesus Peiro’s latest bridal collection proves that eco-friendly fashion and the world of bridal couture can absolutely coincide, creating a beautiful lineup of sustainable wedding gowns made in Spain.
The Atelier by Jimmy Choo
Leave it to The Atelier by Jimmy Choo to render us speechless, even without watching a runway show in person. This collection of 2020-2021 wedding dresses, simply called “The New Collection,” features the most exquisite bridal ballgowns with intricate beading, sparkling details, and sumptuous shapes. The grand finale looked like a scene from The White Queen.
Isabel Sanchis
Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week wouldn’t be complete without a runway show by Isabel Sanchis. Designed and handcrafted in Spain, the Spring/Sumer 2021 bridal collection was filled with oversized flowers, beautiful embroidery, and unexpected pops of drama.
Yolancris
There’s something mesmerizing about the Touch 2021 Collection by Yolancris. While the gowns were every bit as luxe as one would expect from the iconic brand, this season’s lineup was also playful and rule-breaking – especially when we spotted models strutting along in their Yolancris wedding dresses, paired with sneakers. We love the youthful, bohemian feel of this collection and how it offers a whole new generation of bridal couture for 2021 brides.
Higar Novias
Celebrating 40 years of fashion, the Higar Novias “Legacy” collection featured both bridalwear and elegant evening looks. From elegant black and red evening ensembles, to bridal gowns with voluminous ruffles, the Higar Novias show was a beautiful tribute to the label’s Spanish heritage.
Nicole Milano
With Italy being a favorite wedding destination for our couples, we couldn’t help but fall in love with Nicole Milano’s “From Italy to Nicole” collection, inspired by the country itself. Timelessly romantic, these wedding gowns are perfect for 2021 brides getting married in Italy, whether they’re opting for an elegant cathedral wedding in Milan or a rustic Tuscan affair in Florence.
Thank you to Valmont for producing a fantastic Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week and creating a platform for us to celebrate these designers together – even from afar!
