PLANNING YOUR DREAM WEDDING | WHITEHALL IN ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND

Choosing to host your wedding at an historic location can bring an air of timelessness and old-world romance to the celebration. Located in Annapolis, Maryland, Whitehall is a Palladian estate built in 1764, later becoming the state’s first National Historic Landmark. With 135 preserved acres and a beautiful Chesapeake Bay setting, guests are sure to love paying a visit to this incredible destination. Events Manager Christie Pirrung shares more about what to expect during a Whitehall wedding experience.

GO: If you had to describe the property in three words, what would they be?
A: Unique, Historic, Classic

GO: How far in advance does a couple need to reserve a wedding date?
A: Usually a year in advance. We only host one wedding per week and only 12 per year.

GO: Are onsite wedding planners available for the wedding process?
A: Whitehall requires the use of a wedding planner and provides a list of planners upon request.

GO: Are accommodations and buyouts available? What is the capacity limit?
A: We don't have any accommodations onsite, but we are 15 minutes from downtown Annapolis and its many hotels and rental options. We are planning to have "glamping" opportunities available in the near future, as the 135 acres will accommodate many such areas. The capacity is 500-plus.

GO: What spaces are available for ceremonies and receptions?
A: We have five locations where tents can be situated for receptions. Ceremonies and non-tented events can be located anywhere on the property.

GO: What are some of the amenities, incentives and activities that Whitehall offers a couple?
A: Whitehall is a "blank canvas" that can accommodate any vision for your wedding.  We have many vendors that can provide almost any type of activity that is desired. An interesting one is Splash City Golf – a waterfront golf range for your guests’ enjoyment (golf balls are biodegradable and are fish food!).

GO: Food is such an important element at a wedding. Tell us about your menu customization.
A: Whitehall doesn't provide in-house catering, but we have a list of preferred vendors available upon request.

GO: Service is imperative in the wedding industry. What does Whitehall offer couples and their guests that set you apart?
A: This historic Colonial Era Governor's Mansion is a vital part of the history of the United States and can accommodate weddings and events of all sizes. Our onsite personnel have years of experience and will do everything possible to ensure that your wedding goes smoothly. Our Events Manager has been with us for 5 years, Property Manager for 30 years, Security and Parking personnel for 4 years. All experienced professionals.
