As the latest in high-profile celebrity weddings, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra tied the knot on December 1st during a full wedding weekend that was nothing short of an epic celebration. The wedding was a spectacular blend of cultures, and the bride looked especially stunning in a selection of gowns ranging from traditional Indian ensembles to a showstopping white dress. Here’s what we loved most about Priyanka and Nick’s multi-day affair.

The Indian traditions.

Per tradition, the bride and groom’s wedding festivities began with a Mehendi ceremony on Friday, during which they were decked in henna tattoos. Later that night, the couple and their guests gathered for an elaborate Sangeet, complete with choreographed dances, musical numbers, and beautiful costumes.

Priyanka says, “It all began as a fierce song and dance competition between the families but ended, as always, as a huge celebration of love. Nick and I were looking forward to the Sangeet, another pre-wedding ritual… and to see what each side had put together.”

The colorful fashions.

Indian weddings are synonymous with incredible, colorful fashions for both the men and women – and Priyanka and Nick’s wedding did not disappoint.

That veil!

For their western wedding ceremony, the bride made her grand entrance in a Ralph Lauren wedding gown encrusted with more than two million mother-of-pearl sequins; but for us, it was her 75-foot wedding veil that was the real showstopper. Cathedral length veils are one of the biggest bridal trends at the moment, but Priyanka’s veil took it to a whole new level.

The setting.

We love a fairytale wedding that takes place in a castle, so one of our favorite aspects of Priyanka and Nick’s wedding weekend is that it was set at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. Total regality.

The blending of families.

While all the details and the timeline of events were planned to perfection, the best part about the couples’ wedding day is how it demonstrated the magic that happens when two families, cultures, and backgrounds come together to celebrate love.

“One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures,” Nick posted on his Instagram. “Planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so, so amazing.”

Congratulations to the newlyweds!
