For the past 20 years, Genevieve de Manio – or “Gigi” – has been photographing some of the most beautiful weddings around the world. From anticipatory moments before the ceremony to spectacular flower-filled receptions, her couples are fortunate enough to revisit the magic of their wedding day via timeless images, long after they say, “I do.”
Based in Boston, the married mother of three has a background in psychology with a degree from Hollins University, and is a graduate of Portfolio Center. Gigi spent more than seven years honing her craft in commercial photography, assisting some of Boston and New York’s most prominent fashion and portrait photographers. Having mastered the art of documentary style photography, she went on to building a coveted portfolio of wedding clientele including Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezyinsky, and Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent.
Gigi is renowned for her warm personality, allowing couples to feel completely at ease while she captures their most intimate and authentic moments on film throughout their big day. After launching her wedding photography business in 1997, it only took two years for her to earn the “Best of Boston” title for wedding photography from Boston Magazine.
Of course, Genevieve de Manio Photography captures much more than a happy couple and their guests. One of the best things about looking through one’s wedding photos is seeing all the details of the event – especially after all the time, effort, and vision that was put into creating such a gorgeous celebration. Tabletops strewn with flowers; unique displays of escort cards; lavish aisles designed for a bride’s grand entrance; floral arches framing the entrance to an all-night reception; and those special touches unique to each couple’s wedding. Gigi photographs every aspect of her clients’ special day, so they can look back and experience that same ambiance all over again.
