This holiday season, Eden Roc at Cap Cana is unveiling its latest “gift” for luxury travelers in the form of the Solaya Spa & Wellness Centre – a $2 million dollar spa that will be added to the exclusive Dominican Republic hotel. With 30,000 square-feet of indulgent space dedicated to wellness and fitness, the new spa coincides with a partnership between the hotel and Natura Bissé, and the appointment of brand new spa director, Pedro Castillo.

Solaya Spa & Wellness Centre’s expansive space will include 12 treatment rooms with indoor and outdoor cabins, a dedicated 1,200 sq ft anti-gravity yoga area with 12 individual aero yoga structures, an indoor and outdoor Aqua Garden with freshwater pool, a 3,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art gym with an in-house personal fitness trainer, and a new wellness bar with its own range of tropical fruit juices and smoothies. These facilities will sit alongside the spa’s Swedish sauna, Hammam, rainfall showers and exterior Jacuzzi for the ultimate relaxation experience, and guests will be able to enjoy treatments from the comfort of their suites or in a private beach-side cabana overlooking the lapping waves.

The venue will work closely with its newly appointed spa brand, Natura Bissé, a leader in innovation and development of facial and body cosmetics which has this year been names Forbes Travel Guide’s Official Skincare Brand. Guests can unwind and indulge in techniques and ingredients inspired by the region’s distinct characteristics and unique traditions, such as the Islands Scents Massage and the Mango Pineapple Delight Full Body Wrap. Signature treatments will include the Samunprai Massage, which offers a Thai technique giving pumping touches with heated bags to help relieve muscle and joint pains, and The Four Hands Massage which sees two therapists working together in rhythmic harmony with specially-blended aromatherapy massage oils. The Natura Bissé Quirogolf Massage will also be available to book – an exclusive and ground-breaking deep body massage performed with golf balls, using maneuvers based on four pillars that act in synergy: relaxing, warming the muscles, therapeutic massage and improving flexibility. The extensive treatment menu also features Mum-To-Be Therapy to target the special needs at this time of life with a delicate massage for the heavy feeling in the legs and hydration for the stomach, hips and breasts with natural butters to restore elasticity to the skin.

Face care is well-considered at Solaya Spa & Wellness Centre too, with the O2 Relax to release pure oxygen molecules into the epidermal layer to re-energize natural cellular functions and eliminate toxins and pollutants suffered by those living in big cities, frequent flyers and smokers. Men are also well-catered for with the Gentleman Facial, which combines steaming towels and a stimulating face massage specifically designed for male skin to counteract the effects of lack of time, stress and daily shaving that results in dull, lifeless skin.

Eden Roc Cap Cana’s brand new spa has been built using natural materials as part of the hotel’s continued commitment to the environment and is ergonomically designed to fill its guests with a sense of calm. The space is flooded with natural light and features a luscious vertical wall garden, local fauna and greenery to connect guests to nature during their experience.

Spa Director Pedro Castillo says, “The Solaya Spa Fitness & Wellness has been designed to ensure every need of our guests is met so they can unwind and recharge in the most luxurious and relaxing facilities in the Caribbean. We are dedicated to offering exceptional experiences for each guest with close attention to detail, from revitalizing beverages upon arrival to customized treatments. We know each face and each body is unique, so our goal is to surpass all expectations for unparalleled results. Guests will leave our brand-new state-of-the-art facilities feeling relaxed, uplifted and rejuvenated.”

Open daily from 9am to 6pm, the spa will be the first and only SPA in the Dominican Republic to be included in Forbes Travel Guide SPA Ratings for 2019 and was recently nominated in the World Spa Awards for Best Resort Spa in the Dominican Republic.
