The 2019 award season officially began on Sunday with the 76th annual Golden Globe Awards. Hosted by Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg, some of the night’s winners included Glenn Close for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, Rami Malek for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama, Sandra Oh for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama, and Carol Burnett was the recipient of the Carol Burnett Award. The red carpet arrivals also provided a show in itself, as Hollywood’s stars set a fabulous fashion tone for the rest of the evening. Here are some of our favorite fashion moments from the 2019 Golden Globes.
Julia Roberts looked modern and chic in a neutral ensemble by Stella McCartney that included tailored pants and a beige tulle top with a train. Chopard jewelry provided a glamorous finishing touch.
Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz
Making their first red carpet appearance since getting engaged over the holidays, Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz were the picture of post-engagement bliss. The supermodel wore a black corseted ballgown with bright floral appliques, complemented by her fiancé’s classic tuxedo.
Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper
It’s no wonder why people are referring to Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper as “the sexiest couple of the night.” Bradley stood out in a white tux, while his supermodel girlfriend looked like golden perfection in an embellished curve-hugging gown.
Gemma was absolutely stunning on the red carpet, wearing a petrol blue gown by Valentino and showing just enough leg to achieve that ideal blend of “sexy” and “regal.”
Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowre
Let’s be honest – Idris Elba always looks good. For the 2019 Golden Globes, the British heartthrob chose a three-piece forest green tuxedo from Ozwald Boateng, and fiancé Sabrina Dhowre donned a bright and beautiful black gown with floral embellishments.
Taking menswear-inspired fashion to a whole new level, Judy Greer stepped onto the red carpet in a tuxedo that featured a boxy – yet impeccably tailored – longline jacket, black palazzo pants, and an oversized bowtie.
Proving that black is anything but boring (especially when paired with silver sequins), Best Actress nominee Rosamund Pike wore an exquisite couture gown by Givenchy.
Kristin nailed the “naked gown” look, making her grand entrance in a beaded backless number by Amen.
As one of the year’s breakout stars, known for her role in If Beale Street Could Talk, Kiki Layne embodied romance, femininity, and a “goddess-like” quality by wearing a sheer custom Dior dress.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper awards show without a signature “lady in red” fashion moment. Lili Reinhart turned heads for her Golden Globes debut, opting for a dramatic red tulle gown by Khyeli Couture.
