Hopelessly in Love
Chicago, Illinois
October, 2008
Joseph Czerw and Rebecca Haag met while working on the set of the popular Fox show, "Trading Spouses."
For Joe -- a lighting technician with blockbuster feature films like "The Dark Night" and "I am Legend" under his belt -- this was intended to be a quick stop over. That is, until he met and fell hopelessly in love with the show's producer, Rebecca.
When Rebecca decided to move closer to her parents, Joe decided to follow her and settle into a new home in Chicago.
Planning the wedding of their dreams did not prove to be an easy task with Joe constantly away on location as he worked on an upcoming Johny Depp film, "Public Enemies." As it so happens, this proved to be the push that Rebecca needed to start her own event planing company.
The biggest challenge was the possibility that Holy Name Cathedral would not reopen in time for their wedding (after a rather prolonged renovation project). But just weeks shy of the big day, the cathedral went ahead and gave the final go ahead.
From then on, everything was smooth sailing. The autumn affair dictated the rich, earthy colors and the approaching Halloween holiday supplied the fresh ideas for the theme and decor -- like the mini pumpkin escort card display.
