Be generous with your menu
“Always make sure food is in abundance,” says Larry. “Nobody wants to run out of food, and the leftovers can always be enjoyed during the next few days or put in the freezer.”

Self-serve is always best
Serve your meals either family-style or set up a self-serve buffet. When dishes are placed down the center of the dining table or displayed on an elegant buffet, guests are welcome to make their own choices. This also makes it easier for the most discerning dinner guest to find something they like.

Seat kids strategically
Entertaining families doesn’t always mean having to designate a “kiddie table.” Seat kids at the end of the table, so they can come and go as they please.

Don’t forget to enjoy yourself!
If you’re not using staff to help serve food and drinks throughout the evening, make a self-serve bar on the kitchen island. This frees you up to host your guests and enjoy the party without spending all your time running back and forth between the table and the kitchen.
