    ELIZABETH ZADRO & MARK WEBER

September 10, 2016 in Newport Coast, California

During summer athletic training on campus at UCLA, a group of track guys walked up to a group of track girls and asked if they could join in on their game of pick up soccer. Elizabeth Zadro and Mark Weber met with a simple handshake. “I put him on the opposite team, and a significantly lower quality game of pickup continued,” Elizabeth recalls.

“The first thing he noticed about me was that I was a lefty; for me, it was his deep booming voice and larger-than-life lips.”

“I SNUCK AWAY WITH MY NEW HUSBAND TO STEAL A KISS AND SOME SUNSET PHOTOS”

After two years of dating, the couple took a trip to Antigua, where Mark surprised his then-girlfriend with a sunset dinner on the beach with rose petals, torch lights, and champagne – for an early birthday dinner. A month later, the two were celebrating their anniversary at Mastro’s Steakhouse, where Elizabeth was greeted with roses and a poem in the menu. When she looked up, Mark was on one knee, which marked the beginning of a year-and-a-half-long wedding planning process.

With busy work and social schedules, the newly-engaged pair was in no rush get married right away. Planning so far in advance also opened several options and opportunities, such as booking their dream wedding location – the Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Coast – along with their favorite vendors.

They envisioned a wedding décor scheme of a sophisticated Italian garden, with a twist of Restoration Hardware. Alongside the sweeping ocean views, grand Italian structures and ballroom, it wasn’t necessary to overwhelm the space with flowers and décor to achieve the right ambiance.

Although Elizabeth has a history of feeling physically ill when overcome with nerves, she was surprised when she woke up on the wedding day feeling indescribably excited. She had always heard about how the day flies by, so she made it her goal to be present in every single moment, and appreciate everything around her.

The flower girl refusing to throw petals; the maid of honor dropping the rings right before the vows; her sister in law “breaking it down” on the dance floor to the music of a fantastic 12-piece band; the pairing of mushroom risotto, filet and champagne; slicing the cake the wrong way and hitting the plastic structure – the bride enjoyed every minute of the day.

“I snuck away with my new husband to steal a kiss and some sunset photos under our beautiful rotunda one last time, before we had a flower petal exit and white Rolls Royce sweep us away to our honeymoon suite,” says Elizabeth. “New last name in tow, of course.”
